Miniature hybrid with showy flowers ranging from light pink to purple and blooming on the new year's growth. Outstanding exfoliating bark, mottled pale grey to brown to pink in color. Widely used as a landscape tree in the southern part of the USA. Deciduous, keep outdoors and protect in winter. Likes sunny locations to generate blooms. Fall foliage color is red-orange.

Also known as sacred bamboo and is related to the barberry. This tough as nails evergreen has fine lacy foliage which turns bronze and red in winter. It has unbranched reed-like stems. In spring new foliage appears as bright bronze red and is soon followed by large creamy white flowers. In summer clusters of bright green berries appear and by late summer, the berries ripen to a bright red. Does well indoors. Provide sun to get intense coloring of foliage.

The Foetida has delicate white flowers with small evergreen variegated foliage. The variegation is a cream color around its edges. It is a twiggy tree that grows tighter with shearing and is trained in the broom style. Easy indoor care.

Details

The Arabian Jasmine is a bushy vine which we have trained into tree form. It has shiny dark green leaves and fragrant little white flowers. Some of the evergreen leaves are in whorls of three and others are in opposite pairs. The waxy snow white flowers are about 1" across, borne in clusters of 3-12 and intensely fragrant. The flowers fade to pink as they age. The Arabian Jasmine blooms throughout spring and summer and almost continuously in warm climates. Also known as Arabian Tea Jasmine because it is used in teas and religious observances. It is the national flower of the Phillipines where it is known as "Sampaguita". Great indoor bonsai.

Also called Syzygium Paniculatum, Australian Brush Cherry. Has small handsome evergreen leaves which are firm and glossy and the flowers are white. If it receives enough light, the leaves will develop red highlights.

Details

This uncommon ornamental grass also known as "Monkey Grass" is native to Japan and has short, dark green recurving foliage growing from rhizomes that form a dense soft mat. Dwarf Mondo Grass is similar in appearance to Lirope. The spikes of the lavender flowers are borne in the tufts of the leaves and so may be partially hidden. This cultivar is a slow growing dwarf only 4" tall but can spread to 12" if planted in the ground. Often potted by itself as an accent plant for bonsai or used as a live ground cover for a larger bonsai.
